Aucklandia lappa Decne (A.lappa) was investigated the possible active compound(s) responsible for the butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) inhibitory effects and evaluated medicinal and therapeutic potentials. The ethyl acetate extract was obtained by extraction of A.lappa.BChE activity was evaluated utilizing reaction with Ellmans reagent with Tetraisopropyl pyrophosphoramide as a control. In an attempt to find the responsible compound(s),UPLC/Q-TOF-MS was used to analysis the active compounds. In our screening program to search for BChE inhibitors from plants,an ethyl acetate extract of A.lappa exhibited significant BChE inhibitory activity.
