The emergence of a topologically nontrivial vortex-like magnetic structure,the magnetic skyrmion,has launched new concepts for memory devices.Extensive studies have theoretically demonstrated the ability to encode information bits by using a chain of skyrmions in one-dimensional nanostripes.
