The isentropic expansion of an instantaneously and homogenously heated foil in the warm dense matter regime is calculated. The initial temperature and density are assumed to be in the vicinity of the critical temperature and solid density respectively. The dynamics of the expansion is described using a 1D fluid model. In our previous work[1,2],the foil material was described by a standard Van Der Waals fluid model with three degrees of freedom. Here,a Van Der Waals fluid model with an arbitrary number of degrees of freedom is studied.Solutions are self-similar:the spatial and temporal evolution of the foil can be represented by a self-similar variable - position divided by time.
