The broadcast ephemeris plays an important role in GNSS data processing for precise positioning and orbit determination, where is employed in the preprocessing for computing satellite position and velocity and then satellite elevation. If there is any bad ephemeris record or unknown satellite maneuver, the processing might be failed,or need a rather longer computation time with a degraded accuracy. In order to overcome such a problem, the quality control of broadcast ephemeris is definitely necessary in the preprocessing. In this paper, gross records and satellite maneuvers are detected by testing their compatibility of two broadcast ephemeris records based on the differences of the satellite orbit prediction by the two records.According to the statistical analysis on the accuracy degradation of the satellite orbit along with the time difference to the ephemeris reference time, suitable weight for satellite position is considered and proper threshold is determined for the compatibility test. The approach is implemented and its efficiency is validated in operational data processing.
