  In precise stamping field,wear is one of main failure modes during production process.While thin layers coating with high hardness can increase the life-span of tooling by reducing friction and wear of contacting surface.So it is often used in the stamping manufacturing field to improve the life-span of tooling.In traditional method,in order to predict wear and eventually the life-span of pin punch with nitriding layer,PVD titanium nitride coating and their duplex treatment,several hundred thousand operating cycles experiments have to be carried out.But now it is an optimum choice to analyze the wear situation by finite element analysis,considering the computational simulation and experiment expense.
