An ethanol extract of the trunk bark of Antiaris toxicaria yielded five new flavanones,antiarins A-E(1-5),and two new coumarins,anticarins A and-B(6,7),in addition to four known coumarins.Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.The isolated compounds were evaluated for cytotoxic activity.Among them,antiarin A(6) exhibited only weak cytotoxicity against A549(ED50 10.8 μg/mL),while anticarin B(7) showed significant cytotoxic effects against KB-VIN,A549,MCF-7,PC-3,1A9,CAKI-1,S-KMEL-2 cell lines with EDs0 values of ranging from 1.2 to 4.1μg/mL.
