@@ Hong Kong is a meeting place for Eastern and Western cultures. On one hand, Hong Kong is a city that absorbs influences from the West and localizes foreign culturesj on the other hand, Hong Kong is a Chinese community that has strong links with Chinese traditions and culture. This study attempts to determine if it is possible to apply a Western media education instrument in the Hong Kong setting. Specifically, this study is a test of whether children in Hong Kong can be prepared for television violence in the Western-style critical viewing skills project, "Taking Charge of Your TV".
