The rigid bidentate ligand 4,4-bipyridine is a useful building block for the synthesis of magnetic coordination compounds with different network architectures[1].Up to now,there are merely three 1D catena compound containing carboxylic acid and [Cu(Ⅱ)(4,4-bpy)]2+ units reported,and they both have the zigzag catena structure[2].In this work,the first example of one dimensional linear chain coordination polymer containing 4,4-bipy (bpy) and 3-nitrophthalic-acid(NPA,H2L) has been synthesized and characterized structurally.
