For a majority of oil reservoirs,large amounts of oil are still left unrecovered after extensive water flooding,(today the average worldwide recovery factor is 32%).Chemical EOR technology is the most promising tertiary recovery technique to improve sweep and displacement efficiency.[1] After conventional waterflood processes the residual oil in the reservoir remains as a discontinuous phase in the form of oil drops trapped by capillary forces and is likely to be around 70% of the original oil in place (OOIP).The EOR method so-called alkaline–surfactant–polymer (ASP) flooding has proved to be effective in reducing the oil residual saturation in laboratory experiments and field projects through the reduction of interfacial tension and mobility ratio between oil and water phases.[2] This study shows that ASP solution will be manufactured by using the domestic surfactants.Sodium carbonate solution and hydrolized polyacrylamide will be used as alkaline and polymer respectively.Domestic surfactants such as ASCO24-2/26,24-3/25A,24-3/28,1416,30 will be used.This surfactants are produced and sold by Ae-kyung.And sodium dodecyl sulfate is also used to compare with the domestic surfactants.Toluene and decane were used as a model compound of the crude oil.Also,by measuring the interfacial tension using pendent drop tensiometer and Huh’s equation optimal ratio of the ASP solution will be determined.
