Influenza virus infection can cause mild to severe illness in humans,sometimes leading to death.Influenza epidemics occur annually; new influenza A virus subtypes can also cause occasional and unpredictable pandemics in na(i)ve populations.Currently,vaccination is considered the optimal approach to control widespread infection.
