One of the greatest challenges faced by developers of new drugs and treatment strategies for cancer is the obvious need to test them in preclinical in vivo models that have a good probability of being predictive of similar activity in humans. For more than half a century, the laboratory mouse has been the primary species in which experimental cancer treatments have been tested. The most frequently used mouse model is tumor cell line based s.c.xenograft tumor model because of its simplicity and easy access to the tumor measurements. However, there are some limitations for this model.
