Xantholipin is an aromatic polyketide antibiotic first isolated in 2003 from Streptomyces flavogriseus [1,2].Structurally,xantholipin belongs to the family of polycyclic xanthones,such as lysolipin,kigamicin,simaomicin.CBS40,Sch54445.actinoplanone and albofungin,whose biosynthetic pathways have not been characterized in detail over the years,especially for the mechanism of the xanthone ring formation.
