  Sexual segregation is common in ungulates which is a complex phenomenon that can be produced by distinct mechanisms and responses to environmental pressures varied among spatial and temporal causes.Blue sheep (Pseudoisnayaur) is the most abundant wild ungulate in the Helan Mountain region.P.nayauris group-living animal,males and females have distinct body size and external attribute,and they live separately in different spatial and different habitat with different groups outside the mating season.We captured 10 adult P.nayaurs(5 males and 4 females and 1 sub-adult male),and fitted them with radio collarsin Suyuko National Park in May 2010,aiming at studying the special sexual segregation of male and female P.nayaur.Two methods including Minimum Convex Polygon (MCP) and Kernels Density Estimation (KDE) were employed in quantifying movement behavior of free-living tagged P.nayaurs.The mean (±SE) male MCP home range size was 12.63±3.08 km2 (t=4.lO,df=4,p=0.015),range from 4.28 ktr12 to 20.74km2; while the mean (+SE) females MCP home range size was 6.52±1.54 krr12 (t=4.22,df=3,p=0.024),range from l.91 krr12 to 8.30krr12.The Multi-Response Permutation Procedure (MRPP) analyses indicated no significant difference occurred between the male and female P.nayaursspatial distributions.So,though adult male and female P.nayaurswould be spatially separated outside of the mating season because of differential nutritional requirements,the special segregation in P.nayaurs was not very distinct.
