  Localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)have received considerable attention in the near 10years.Although theoretical model of LSPR based on Maxwell Equations and Drude Electron Theory has been built since 1970s,principle error of this model occurs when particles in quantum size,generally diameter is less than 20nm.Since 2005,revising of classical theory has made for explaining LSPR behavior of particles in quantum size by correcting calculation of permittivity.Due to the quantum mechanical,band structure model should be more appropriate to these tiny particles.Experimental methods have developed to observe the absorption of nanoparticles as their diameter decreased.A delightful application of STEM allows direct morphological and spectral analysis of individual nanoparticles,so we can verify our theoretical model.Most research of LSPR focus on metal particles,while more and more evidences show existing of LSPR in non-metal particles.LSPR also supplies a new way of structure unit designing replacing LC resonance structure in metamaterial to avoid insurmountable intrinsic loss of metal.
