Effects of acidification treatment during different growth periods on the growth of Microsystis aeru

With the increasing development of society,the fast growing speed of people and the unreasonable exploitation and utilization of lake resource,the problem of lake pellution get worse and worse.And cyanobacteria outbreak,especially Microsystis aeruginosa outbreak,is the main character of lake pollution.In order to explore a new approach to resolve this problem,the effects of various acid conditions of culture medium and acidification treatments in different growing periods of Microsystis aeruginosa on the growth of Microsystis aeruginosa have been studied by aerating CO2 to the culture medium to change the medium pH and keeping the acid condition as unchangeable as possible in the process of culture at the logarithmic growth phase and the stationary phase of Microsystis aeruginosa.As a result,the acidification treatments at the logarithmic growth phase of Microsystis aeruginosa showed that Microsystis aeruginosa died at pH of 5.5 and 6.0.However,the growth of Microsystis aeruginosa was strongly inhibited at pH of 6.5,but it began to survive as soon as CO2 aeration was stopped.Additionally,the inhibition effects of acidification treatment on the growth of Microsystis aeruginosa were not remarkable when acidification treatment started from the stationary phase of Microsystis aeruginosa,the growth of Microsystis aeruginosa was inhibited to a certain extent under the conditions of pH 6.0 and pH 5.5,and the maximum decrements of the chlorophyll-a at pH 6.0 and pH 5.5 reached 9.83%,24.03% respectively,while the acid condition of pH 6.5 had no contribution to the inhibition of the growth of Microsystis aeruginosa.Therefore,the acidification treatment for inhibition of growth of Microsystis aeruginosa should be performed at the logarithmic growth phase of Microsystis aeruginosa and pH should be controlled less than 6.0.
