The paper focuses on the effect of water cement ratio (w/c) on hydration of high porosity cement foams prepared by introducing preformed foam into Portland cement slurries, the relationship between structure and compressive strength of high porosity cement foams is also proposed.The quantitative image analysis, SEM,and other characterization techniques were used to characterize the structure and hydration behavior of cement foams.The results showed that the early age hydration of cement foam impacted the structure greatly, and the structure improved obviously as w/c increased from 0.7 to 0.9at early age.The porosity was 91% and the 28d compressive strength achieved 0.43MPa.
