The first result about existence of solutions to the system of conservation laws {ut+f(u)x = 0,(1)u(0,x)= u0(x),f:Rn→Rn strictly hyperbolic,Tot.Var.(u0)＜＜ 1.is contained in the celebrated paper [2] by J.Glimm,later improved by T.-P.Liu in [3],where a sequence {u∈}∈ of approximate solutions,which converge(up to subsequences)to the entropic solution u of(1),is constructed.
