The fretting fatigue caused by the vibration between the steam generator U-tubes and the seismic bar will result in tube failure and radioactive leak.The finite element model combined with the Archard wear model is employed to simulate the wear process efficiently.On the base of geometry changing with fretting going,a critical plane method –SWT(Smith-Watson-Topper)parameter is introduced to estimate the micro crack initiation life,failure position and crack orientation.In this paper,the influence of different pressure on pad and different strain amplitude for tube is investigated.The results show that the crack initiation life decreases with increasing pressure.However,like the experimentally observed,the crack initial life reduced markedly when the strain amplitude causing the partial slip.
