To observe and assess the diversity and similarity of intestinal bacterial community in diarrheal patients infected with four different types of enteroviruses viruses.Bacterial DNAs from faeces of 52 patients with viral diarrhea and 6 healthy individuals were extracted and then characterized by PCR-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) with universal primers specific for the V3 region of 16S rRNA gene.Sequencing data was also obtained from the strongest bands of the DGGE profiling to identify the dominant species.
