Previous studies on testing the efficiency of technical analysis in Chinas stock market have tended to focus on relatively simple technical trading rules.By contrast,this paper investigates the usefulness of some complex technical patterns which are popular among technical practitioners.The patterns are quantitatively defined and automatically recognized using a nonparametric kernel regression method.
