The influence of emulsifier OP-21(OP-21),benzalacetone(BA) and polyethyleneglycol400( PEG400) on the voltammetric behaviour, nucleation, growth mechanism and morphology of the electrodeposition of zinc from chloride acidic baths, was reported by linear sweep voltammetry(LSV),cyclic voltammetry(CV),chronoamperometry(CA) and scanning electron microscope(SEM) techniques. The results show that this ternary additive can more markedly increase the overpotential and more powerfully inhibit hydrogen evolution of zinc electrodeposition, compared with the two mixture or separate ones or free-additive case.
