Studies on molecular flow through porous media used for membrane filtmtion contribute to effective design of membrane materialsand/or in-depth interpretation of separation measure ments using computer simulations and analytic theories.A recent publication[1] indicates that hourglass-shaped pores contributed to an order of magnitude higher permeation rate for gas separation, which could be in part explained by theoretical analyses.
