圆明三园被誉为万园之园,是清朝雍正、乾隆等几代皇帝的兼听政与休闲为一体的御园寝宫所在。其中除了殿堂楼阁、水榭游廊之外,还有戏台、船坞、买卖街、毡帐等建筑。说这座皇家园林功能齐备、形式多样、包罗万象,以各种空间形式的转变来满足帝王们在不同时间的不同需求,当不为过。不同的建筑形式为不同的活动内容服务,建筑材料也要依据不同的建筑形式承担着与之相应的功能。砖是建筑材料的一种,被广泛、大量地用于圆明三园各种建筑形式中。
