A novel facile one-step method for producing methyl-D-glucoside from lignocellulosic biomass

  In the present study,we have investigated the methyl-D-glucoside(MLG)can be synthesized by lignocellulosic biomass in methanol media with extremely low sulfuric acid(≤0.005 mol L?1)under mild conditions(≤473 K).Starch was rapidly and almost quantitatively converted into MLG as a key and stable intermediate product,and a high MLG yield of 96%(relevant percentage)can be achieved after the completion of reaction.Based on the detected compounds,a plausible reaction pathway for the acid-catalyzed conversion of glucose in methanol medium was proposed.
