The 1995 Hyogoken-Nanbu Earthquake caused severe damage to all kinds of building structures, but worthy of special mention was damage to SRC structures. The damage of collapse was the first trial for SRC structures and was realized again the necessity of performing seismic retrofit to existing SRC structures.Although the 2011 offthe Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake caused a great tsunami and earthquake motion, the damage to SRC structural members was little and the damage to SRC non-structural members was a little so that SRC structures constructed in urban area. The damage to non-structural members, such as non-seismic walls, created many problems in daily life. This study describes learned lessons from the previous earthquake damages.
