In this work,“Al-Ti” composite is synthesized from ball-milled LiAlH4 and K2TiF6,and added into MgH2 to improve its hydrogen storage properties.The newly formed 5 MgH2-AT composite exhibits lower onset dehydrogenation temperature of 180 oC.Isothermal dehydrogenation properties of the composite show that 5.4 wt%of hydrogen is released within 60 min at 230 °C,and 2.4 wt%of hydrogen in 50 min at 200 °C.DSC results prove the reduced dehydrogenation active energy(Ea)of the composite.The dehydrogenation processes of the composite are studied and intermediates Al3Ti and Al12Mg17 are observed.The reversibility of the composite is also investigated.The results shows that 4.7 wt%hydrogen is absorbed in 60 min under the condition of 200 oC and 2 MPa hydrogen pressure for the first cycle,and the absorbed hydrogen maintains at 4.5 wt%well during the following 5 cycles.
