The solar coronal field forms an important link between the underlying source in the solar photosphere and the heliospheric magnetic field emanating away from the Sun with the solar wind.Since the coronal magnetic field is difficult to measure,it has traditionally been calculated("predicted") from the photospheric magnetic field observations using various magnetic field models between the photosphere and the corona.
