As one of the most famous ancient cities in China,Jankang (todays Nanjing,Jiangsu province,East of China) have gestated about three hundreds years of Liuchao Dynasty civilization in Ancient China.The author has collected a lot of first-hand regional information and cultural relic about of this historic site.These data shows that the history of smelting metal may begins in Sun Wu Dynasty,development in South Dynasty,and prosper in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.Therefore,the smelting history in Jankang city has an important position in history of Chinese science and technology.Its advanced technique,the local cultural and history would be worth studying and exploring by different discipline method,and be beneficial to contemporary urban use and management.
