Graphene has attracted much attention of both experimental and theoretical researches now.And recently, the studies of metal adsorption on graphene have become one of the most attractive topics because of its unique electronic properties and potential applications. In our work, the interaction between graphene patch and metal Li was studied using first-principles method. We focus on the charge transfer from Li to graphene and find two configurations (bounded and unbounded) corresponding to different separations between graphene and Li.For bounded configuration, the system is the most stabilized when Li adsorbs on the top of the hexagon and charge transfer is founded from Li to graphene patch. Our results can provide theoretical guidance in the application of Li-batteries,hydrogen storage and superconductors.
