In this study, we conducted spray visualization of GDI injector and spray simulation using CFD technique. Through visualization technique, penetration length, spray angle and spray pattern have been tested with various injection pressure. Computational results have been compared with visualization results to analyze the spray characteristics. Visualization and computational results show that as the injection pressure increases, spray particle size becomes smaller and penetration length increases. At the early stage of the spray, penetration length of simulation is longer than that of visualization. This is because initial particle size was assigned proportional to injector hole size. Momentum of droplet was overrated due to the oversized initial particle size.
