The complex interaction of the very local interstellar medium(VLISM) and thesolar wind is what creates the heliosphere and therefore understanding theheliosphere requires knowledge of the nature of the VLISM.The VLISM that isimpinging on the heliosphere is part of the region known as the LocalInterstellar Cloud(LIC),which is a warm(～7000 K),low density(0.25 cm-3)and partially ionized cloud embedded within the hot Local Bubble.
