  A high-speed railway shield tunnel is built at the bottom of a river, and withstands water pressure up to 70m.Owing to its complicated geologic conditions and high earthquake intensity, observation of cracks and deformation in back of lining concrete stands at an especially important place.Therefore, fiber sensor is introduced, for the first time, in the back of segment to detect crack.Combining with the actual application of sensing fiber in shield tunnel project, research in-depth such as fiber sensing test for steet reinforced concrete and high pressure water environmental factor on fiber sensing is carried on.The results are applied in the shield tunnel project, and the sensing fiber successfully detected the occurrence of crack, which proved that fiber sensor played a very important role in quality control of the project and can meet the requirement of detecting crack well.Such results may serve as reference for other similar projects.
