Co-authorship network for information science in China was taken as an example in the present study.Network characteristic and community structure of co-authorship network were analyzed.Results in this study demonstrated that co-authorship network can be characterized by small world and scale-free property.Close links inside the communities were testified in the network,but links inter-communities were loose,the network presented a low-connectivity.It can be concluded from these results that enhancement of cooperation inter-communities can improve the co-authorship of information science.
