Background: Imbalance of iron hemostasis is the feature of hepatocyte damage and liver diseases,including hemochromatosis,chronic hepatitis C,cirrhosis,and hepatocellular carcinoma.However,there are no association study has been done to explore the possibility of existing correlations of hepcidin,a key regulator of iron metabolism,with liver malfunction.To this end,we pilot the Chinese population study to address whether hepcidin is linked to liver functionality.
