　　Ascomycete fungi exhibit two different sexual life styles,homothallism and heterothallism,which are orchestrated by the mating-type(MAT)loci.Two partners of opposite mating-types with compatible MAT idiomorphs,MAT1-1 or MAT1-2,are needed for nonself-recognition and mating of compatible individuals of heterothallic fungi,which is mediated by the pheromone-receptors.
