Single molecule magnets (SMMs), with their peculiar magnetic hysteresis of pure molecular origin, have been widely investigated.Recently, the interest has shifted towards the potential incorporation of single magnetic molecules into carbon nano-devices for spintronics and their organization into monolayers and nanostructures.The approaches to this have largely been focused on chemical self-assembly, with only a few examples of evaporable SMMs appearing recently.
