Objective: To treat the cicatricial ectropionresult from empyrosis by repairing the coloboma, restore thefunction and appearance of eye lids.
Methods: Scar releaseand skin transplantation+suture fixation to get theocclusion of palpebral fissure in 2 subjects. Scar releaseand skin transplantation+suture fixation of palpebralfissure+ wedge resection of tarsus+ internal fixation of thesuture edge of the eye lids margin to get the occlusion in 1subject.
Results: All of the 5 eyes of the 3 patients gotgreat recover with normal appearance and good function ofeye lids, as well as better eyesight. Conjunctival congestion, conjunetival spot and ulcers were all recovered, too.
Conclusion: The suturing method is a faster surgerymethod with smaller trauma and better outcome. Its easierto observe the operation result by unfastening the sutureregularly, so the suture can he removed at the right time. This method also provides a higher survival rate of the transplanted skin.
