The problem of dislocation emission from nanovoid with surface stress under combined loading isinvestigated. The explicit solutions of stress fields and the critical stress for dislocation emission are obtained bythe use of the complex variable method. The influence of surface properties and the size of the hole on the criticalstress is discussed. The results show that different surface properties may cause the difficultly and the mostprobable angle for dislocation emission to either increase or decrease. The larger the emission angle, the larger theeffect of the surface stress. At the same time, the smaller the radius of the hole, the larger the effect of the surfacestress.
