Background: Transient receptor potential (TRP) channels, a group of ligand-gated, Ca2+ permeable ion channels, act as polymodal nociceptors in peripheral neurons.Transient receptor potential vanilloid 3 (TRPV3), a member of TRP family, is known to be involved in thermosensation and pain sensation and plays important roles in skin physiology and pathophysiology.
