Mangrovimonas yunxiaonensis LY01 was a gram-negative, aerobic, short-rod-shaped bacterium isolated from a mangrove sediment sample collected from Yunxiao mangrove National Nature Reserve, Fujian Province of China.Here, we present the first draft genome sequence for this genus, which exhibits main functional genes including macromolecular complex production, catalytic activities and metabolic process.The genome will provide us an opportunity to further understand the algicidal mechanism of this strain and contribute to the bacterial control of harmful algal blooms.
