OBJECTiVE:To study the constituents of Taxus cusipidata and T. canadensis leaves.
METHODS: The constituents were extracted with methanol and isolated by column chromatography on silica gel,prep-TLC and prep-HPLC. The structures were determined on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR as well as MS spectral analyses. MTT method was used to evaluate the cytotoxicities of the three diterpenoids. RESULTS: Eight compounds were isolated and identified.
CONCLUSION: Compounds 2,3,5-9 have not previously been reported from the titled plants. Compound 7 was a new taxane with a novel skeleton. Compound 8 showed weak growth inhibitory activities against T-98 and MM1-CB.
