Due to the transient nature of forcing factors such as the surface fluxes of heat and momentum, the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) experiences great changes in its structure and dynamics during a diurnal cycle, which further affects the structure of wind turbine wakes and their effects on power losses within wind farms. This study is hoped to develop a better understanding of the turbulence structure and the properties of the stable atmospheric boundary layer as precursors for further evaluation of the wind turbine performance.
