In this study, we developed a nanoliter-scale droplet array to perform digital PCR for absolute gene quantification.The droplet array was automatically generated on a microchip with a droplet dispenser with picoliter resolution.Each droplet contained Genomic DNA (gDNA) with a concentration of less than one genome equivalent.The β-actin gene from the whole genome DNA was quantified with the present system.The present system has several advantages including automated and precise droplet dispersion, simple system structure, ease in detection and operation.
