　　Pomegranate is an important fruit crop of India with 1.12 lakhs hectare area with a production of 10 lakhs tones.The important varities grown in India are Ganesh, G-137, Arkata, Mirdula, Bhagawa.Pomegranate occupies 10,689 hectare area in Karnataka with a production of 1, 15,616 tonnes.
