A device was designed and built based on the theory of corona discharge and strong grads electric field to purify the exhaust.Experiments were performed to measure the removal efficiency of NOx.The experiment results showed that,under the appropriate range,with the number of grads steel canister increasing and the number of molybdenum decreasing,the removal efficiency of NOx improved.Under the low and middle engine speed conditions,the removal efficiency of NOx can reach 65%.By compared with three-way catalyst,the construction of the device is simple and the cost is low and the reliability is high.It is well prospect at the field of automobile exhaust if the removal efficiency can be father improved.
