Nicotinamide,an amide form of vitamin B3,has been shown to accelerate aging in yeast through inhibition of Sir2,a yeast HDAC.Meanwhile,nicotinamide at mM concentration extends life-span of normal human fibroblasts.It also has been shown to affect cell survival in various conditions in vitro and is being utilized therapeutically in many different human diseases.
