Semiconductor photocatalysis, particularly using visible light, offers promising applications such as fuel production via hydrogen generation, and water and air purification1.However,most of the common photocatalysts, such as titanium dioxide (TiO2), make inefficient use of the solar spectrum due to large optical bandgaps in the UV.
