Auxin is the first identified plant hormone and it plays essential roles in many aspects of plant growth and development.In Arabidopsis,auxin is mainly synthesized from tryptophan(Trp) via a two-step pathway using indole-3-pyruvate(IPA) as the intermediate.Trp is first converted into IPA by the TAA family of amino transferases.
