Ca2+ channels play prominent roles in diverse biological processes, with temporal and spatial dependency.L-type Ca2+ channels emerge as one of the central signaling hubs in healthy and diseased neurons, whereas in details such channel-mediated Ca2+ signaling frequently appears to be controversial in that both constructive and destructive signals could be simultaneously driven by the channels.
