Multinuclear metal clusters have long captivated chemists due to their potential applications in catalysis, molecular recognition and transport, and also their role of being the bridge between coordination complexes and nano-sized metal complexes. Therefore, designed synthesis of multinuclear metal cluster aggregates with specific nuclearity and desired geometry has thus become a prerequisite task.Previously, we have establish a macrocycle-directed strategy for the controllable synthesis of metal clusters.1-3 Recently, our work demonstrated that the all-carbon or carbon-rich networks could serve as templates for the synthesis of nano-sized silver cluster architectures.
